Byron Hitchcock, soloist · Fort Collins Symphony season-opening Signature Concert. A program of Corigliano, Sibelius, and Dvořák — sweeping melodies drawn from Finland’s landscapes.
Signature Project
Two pillars of the violin repertoire, recorded end to end.
Byron is currently at work on a recording of Beethoven’s complete Sonatas for violin and piano — ten works that trace the composer’s entire arc, from the Classical poise of the early sonatas to the visionary scope of the “Kreutzer.”
The project follows his recently completed recording of Bach’s complete Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin, the cornerstone of the unaccompanied repertoire and a summit every violinist measures themselves against.
The full cycle of ten sonatas, including the “Spring” and “Kreutzer.”
BWV 1001–1006, including the monumental D-minor Chaconne.

About
A native of Wyoming, Byron Hitchcock has performed across the United States, Latin America, and Asia to critical acclaim. Praised by the Boston Globe for his “fearlessly expressive” playing and his “finely honed tone,” he appears on the concert stage as concertmaster, soloist, and chamber musician.
Mr. Hitchcock currently serves as Concertmaster of the Fort Collins Symphony. He also holds concertmaster positions with Opera Colorado, which presents acclaimed productions each season at Denver’s Performing Arts Center, and the Central City Opera Orchestra, a summer festival held in Central City’s 19th-century jewel-box opera house. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music, a Master’s degree from the New England Conservatory, and an Artist Diploma from SUNY Purchase.
